Lloyd Carter, member of Team Colon will make his first title defense at No Mercy against Alfonso Dematteo, a member with Team No Comment.

Lloyd Carter, who will once again be fighting in his hometown of Gary, Indiana, comes from his recent title win against Tyrice Davis back in August at Sacrifice.

Carter said nothing has changed and that he has been training hard, just like always.

"I got a good training camp, I feel pretty confident," said Carter.

Team Colon's coach, Steve said he's pretty excited about Carter's fight against Dematteo. "I don't worry too much about rankings and all that- but I don't know too much about the guy (Dematteo). We are just prepared for anybody they bring to us, so it really doesn't matter," said Colon.

"This is a good opportunity for Alfonso. I honestly see him like Reynoso an all around good fighter but Dematteo has better hands. I think this match up is a solid fight for Lloyd, who will definitley be tested on October 4th," said Co-Owner, Brian Angelo.

When asked what he (Carter) thought about Dematteo's comment: - "I'm definitely going to surprise a lot of people when I win on October 4th," - Carter said the following:

"For him (Dematteo) to say that, he's really saying the truth, right now I'm on top and for him to beat me would be surprising for most people but you never know, that's why he's training for a fight and I'm training my ass off to keep my belt. I worked too hard to get it and I'm going to work even harder to keep it," said Carter.

"I don't see that happening (Dematteo defeating Carter) at all to be honest, I don't want to sound cocky- but that boy better be prepared and ready for war because my guy (Carter) is ready. 135 pounds- that title is ours and it aint going nowhere for a long time," said Coach Steve Colon.

Dematteo last came out with a victory by unanimous decision in his fight against Dexter Wright back in April at Vendetta.

In his fight against Wright, Dematteo said he was trying to do stand-up but since Wright kept closing distance, he ended up throwing submissions. Regardless, Dematteo of Team No Comment, says he feels great and that he is ready for his title shot against Carter.

"Pretty much, I'm probably more ready than I've ever been. I've been training really hard.I was pretty much injury free for all my training. Little injuries here and there, I broke my knuckle and messed my toe up, but I'm all good and I'm ready to go. I'm 2 lbs. off weight, so I'm good," said Dematteo.

Dematteo says he hasn't even shown half of what he can do and says he would like to show what he can do in this fight against Carter.

"I haven't been able to put everything together yet in a fight, so this time hopefully I can, I should be able to win that day. Everything, stand-up, ground, wrestling, everything," said Dematteo.

Dematteo also mentioned that as he trains really hard for this match, he has also picked up a couple new training spots.

"I've been training really hard. I've been training with Miguel Torres a lot for this fight. I've also trained with Gilbert Grappling, Team No Comment and my boxing trainer, so I'm all over the place, every day, 7 days a week," said Dematteo.

When asked if Dematteo foresee's a tough challenge against Carter, he said that it is going to be a good fight and that he thinks that Carter is a well rounded fighter, so Dematteo doesn't think neither of the two will have too much of a weakness.

"I think it's going to be a pretty good war, I don't know what's going to happen to tell you the truth. I'm just going to try my hardest. That's all I can do- but I think it's going to be an exciting fight for everybody," said Dematteo.

When asked what do FCE fans expect to see from Carter on October 4th, Carter said, "The same moves from Lloyd Carter, hands, feet, knees, elbows, same o'l Lloyd Carter."

Carter said he didn't dissapoint his fans the last time they came out to see him and he doesn't plan on dissapointing them at No Mercy.

"I just hope he's been training because it's going to be a real good fight," said Carter.

So FCE fans- get ready to see this title shot and keep an eye out to see who and how much has each of these two fighters have improved!

NOTE: LLOYD CARTER ALSO MENTIONED THAT HE WILL BE MAKING A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ON OCTOBER 4TH- SO BE SURE TO ALSO LOOK OUT FOR THAT!

See you on October 4th- Don't miss it!!!
